Direct marketing concepts for The Folio Society.
Involvement
Concept design + artwork mockup + presentation to marketing team
Synopsis
The brief was to design some new direct mail concepts aimed at bringing in new members to The Folio Society (a high quality book publisher). The target audience would be younger than the normal Folio demographic.
Result
The concepts were never taken further but remain firm favourites in the portfolio.
Maltese Cross (1–3)
The idea was a self-contained design that could be mailed as one single piece.
The proposition is based on the premise that Folio has a treasure trove of books waiting to be discovered. The offer was a free Times Atlas. As the user unfolds, so the treasures are revealed. The last fold is the response postcard that can be torn off and posted back.
Five Senses (4–5)
As Folio books are very tactile objects, the idea was based around the five senses: touch, taste, hear, smell, see. Pack consisted of various elements including an information leaflet and different coloured carrier bags.
